P15: Association pour la Recherche et le Développement des Méthodes et Processus Industriels, Armines (ARM), France

Association pour la Recherche et le Développement des Méthodes et Processus Industriels, Armines (ARM), FR

The Centre for Computational Biology is a common research centre of ARMINES and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris created in 2006.

In 2008 was established the Bioinformatics, biostatistics, epidemiology and computational systems biology of cancer laboratory (U900) as joint research initiative between ARMINES, Mines ParisTech (formerly Ecole des Mines de Paris), the Curie Institute, a major hospital and research centre dedicated to cancer, and INSERM (Institut National de la santé et de la recherche médicale). Their staffs of 50 conducts interdisciplinary research focused on several aspects of cancer through observation of the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms. Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris (ENSMP) is a Third Party Contractor to ARM.

The project will be carried out in the offices of the laboratory, located on the campus of Mines ParisTech and on the campus of Curie Institute in Paris.

ARMINES will provide computational infrastructure, servers, computing cluster, and databases.

The team will focus on the development of statistical and computational methods to process and model biological data. Typical biological and medical applications include the development of diagnostic, prognostic and predictive models from high-throughput data, and the reconstruction of biological networks and pathways.
