P14: Instituto Catalá de Nanotecnologia (ICN), Spain

Instituto Catalá de Nanotecnologia, ES

Since its establishment in 2003, the ICN’s mission has been to conduct both scientific (nanoscience) and technology (nanotechnology) researches related to the physical and chemical properties of nanostructured functional materials, devices, scanning probe microscopy and synchrotron radiation spectroscopy, nanobiosensors, theory and simulation.

ICN has a staff of close to 100 including over 25 PhD students. ICN is involved in strong industrial cooperation on a national and international level. ICN is a member of AENEAS and the Nanophotonics Europe Association.

The Nanobioelectronics & Biosensors Group at ICN aims to integrate nanotechnology methods, tools and materials into low cost, user friendly and efficient sensors and biosensors with application in diagnostics, food analysis, environment monitoring and other industries.
